Jill Rushton Art

As important as art is to me,  it is not the center of my life.  Our family has always come first. We have lots of children and grandchildren and cherish the time we can spend with them. So here is our clan at a family reunion in June, 2009.

My maiden name is Boronda.  In fact, I sign all my paintings as "Boronda".  I am a decendant of Jose Manuel Boronda and Maria Gertrudis Higuera, who married in 1790 in the old Santa Clara, California Mission.  My early California ancestors make me related to just about anyone whose family came to California before 1810.  My great-great grandmother's name was Pilar, a Los Angeles Mission Indian.  If you think we may be related, please contact me at:  jillrushtonart@gmail.com.  My mother's family name was Scofield.  They were from the British Isles.  I do spend a lot of time doing genealogy.

In addition to family activities, I am also very involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  If you would like to know more about the church, please check out this web site:  www.mormon.org
